Clayton Brothers Powered on With Support From Össur

British Powerboat racing champions Chris and Mark Clayton are celebrating after just completing the Round Britain Powerboat Race and being crowned the best in their class.

The brothers from Surrey, entered their 40 year old powerboat, GEE, into the historic class and are delighted with its performance, crossing the finishing mast on Monday in Portsmouth in 22nd place. Team GEE were also honoured by fellow competitors with the Spirit of the Event award.

Commenting an enthused Chris, said: “It was a fantastic experience and we are thrilled to have been able to be part of it. It was exhausting and during the first legs there were some hard seas. We are very grateful to the team at the Technology in Motion clinic in Wimbledon who provided and fitted us with custom made CTi Braces – I am not sure where we would have been without them – the seas take the toll on the body.”

Both the Clayton brothers suffer from different sport related injuries, including muscle and ligament issues – a result of years of high impact water sports.

Mark and Chris visited orthotist Serena Stubbs, at the clinic in Wimbledon ahead of the race. Commenting, she said: “The brothers needed the best possible support available for the demanding environment.  The CTi is the ideal brace to offer that extra support and flexibility, many of the injured sports enthusiasts we see decide on this brace for those reasons.”

The ten day race which started on 21st June, was staged for the third time and saw over 50 boats compete.
